First album by one of UK’s BEST progressive acts ever – GRAVY TRAIN! This is the first original UK-pressing on the legendary Vertigo Swirl-label, but you all know the basic facts behind this one…

COVER; The textured gatefold cover has some wear round the edges and some light creases at the spine. There is some light peel-offs at 9 o’clock on front. There is a light ringwear on bottom back. Still in pretty decent condition, I would say. A solid VERY GOOD and should appeal to most collectors – unless you strictly aim for MINT-copies. Please look at the pictures and feel free to contact me if you need more detailed information!

VINYL; The vinyl shows great lustre with one or two hairlines. There is a minor scuff at the beginning of track B1, which causes some intrusive noise for a couple of seconds. Visually clearly a NEAR MINT-vinyl. When giving it a spin on my REGA P3, there is some light crackle in some of the more quiet parts and in between some of the tracks. So we’ll settle for a conservative VERY GOOD PLUS.

LABELS; Both labels are very clean with some very light spindlemarks, indicating that this record has been played carefully and probably a handful of times at most.

INNERSLEEVE; Has the original VERTIGO innersleeve - with the text "plastic bags can be…etc" and with the numbers 1070 on bottom left - in decent condition. A little yellowing round the edges, a small tear near the centre There is a small split ca 1inch at bottom.. The plastic inner is still there, but is creased and is no longer attached to the papersleeve.

I use GOLDMINE GRADING STANDARDS – MINT/NEAR MINT/VERY GOOD PLUS/VERY GOOD/GOOD/POOR. I only use the term "MINT" when the record is factory sealed. NEAR MINT (NM) means NEAR MINT both visually and audible! VERY GOOD PLUS (VG+) is the same as EXCELLENT (EX) in other grading systems. My ambition is to provide an as accurate description as possible and I do not try hide any defects or other flaws on the record and cover. GOLDMINE GRADING STANDARDS

MINT ---- It should appear to be perfect. No scuffs or scratches, blotches or stains, labels or writing, tears or splits. Mint means perfect.

NEAR MINT ---- Otherwise mint but has one or two tiny inconsequential flaws that do not affect play. Covers should be close to perfect with minor signs of wear or age just becoming evident: slight ring-wear, minor denting to a corner, or writing on the cover should all be noted properly.

VERY GOOD PLUS ---- The record has been handled and played infrequently or very carefully. Not too far from perfect. On a disc, there may be light paper scuffs from sliding in and out of a sleeve or the vinyl or some of the original lustre may be lost. A slight scratch that did not affect play would be acceptably VG+ for most collectors.

VERY GOOD ---- Record displays visible signs of handling and playing, such as loss of vinyl lustre, light surface scratches, groove wear and spindle trails. Some audible surface noise, but should not overwhelm the musical experience. Usually a cover is VG when one or two of these problems are evident: ring wear, seam splits, bent corners, loss of gloss, stains, etc.

GOOD ---- Well played with little lustre and significant surface noise. Despite defects, record should still play all the way through without skipping. Several cover flaws will be apparent, but should not obliterate the artwork.

POOR ---- Any record or cover that does not qualify for the above "Good" grading should be seen as Poor. Several cover flaws
