For your consideration, a very rare original left-field vinyl 7" white label promo 45 release from GRAY, Jean-Michel Basquiat's seminal 80's experimental band from Downtown NYC. A rare, abstract find which owns excellent music and deep American Art roots. It seems with recent explosions of Basquiat work and record breaking auction sales, that GRAY's music has become in demand both for the Art and Music aficionado alike. Don't miss your opportunity to own an amazing piece of American Art and Music history. On April 29th, 1979  Jean-Michel Basquiat and Michael Holman created the revolutionary experimental noise band GRAY. Together with members Nick Taylor, Vincent Gallo, Justin Thyme and Shannon Dawson the group would help birth NYC's glorified Downtown Art scene.

In the midst of the 80's No Wave movement GRAY created music and performed at iconic NYC spaces including:

CBGB, Mudd Club, Tier 3 and Hurrah- alongside other DOWNTOWN contemporaries such as DNA and The Lounge Lizards. 


Original GRAY recordings can be found on the “Shade’s of..” LP / Plush Safe Records and on additional choice compilations. GRAY compositions can also be heard on award-winning movie soundtracks: Downtown 81, Basquiat, The Radiant Child, Blank City and Downtown Calling
