Artist: Keita Fodeba, with Kassory, Yansané, Kante Facelli
Tracks: Moke-Seni / Alaleno-Simadana
Keita Fodeba, one of the most important figures in Guinean music (he arranged the national anthem). He was active in Paris with an African jazz band that also performed traditional tunes in the Bambara language such as this. Very nice guitar picking here, in a traditional style.
Fodeba established theater troupes, wrote books, was involved in the fight for Guinea's independence. He was executed in 1969 along with many others, accused by then president Sekou Toure, of being involved in a coup d'etat plot.
Condition: E- (plays strong, about an E, w/ marks, slight off-center pressing needs a tiny bit of weight, nothing major)
