Description
I am now sorting out records from my youth. Cleaning them, recording them and selling them on. I am beginning with my Northern Soul Collection and I will give them a condition category of A, B or C based on the sound and the visual appearance (Key below). Each record will have a cardboard sleeve (Not New, many with old markings). Each record/sleeve will be packaged inside a cardboard record mailer, along with a cardboard insert for protection.

Category A
Will show some signs that it was played
Record surfaces may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect the sound.
Slight warps that do not affect the sound .
The label may have some ring wear or discoloration but it should be barely noticeable.
Category B
Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song's intro and fade, but still produces a good sound.
Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as with light scratches
Labels may be marred by writing, tears or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached.
Category C
Records that would normally have been Cat A or B but have a flaw such as a ‘jump’ in playing or they are noticeably aged and heavily worn.price rating
