Description
Man's Ruin Gamma Ray 7" Single - Mint Condition
Side One: "If Only Everything" Featuring Josh Homme (Vocals and guitar), Vann Conner (Bass) and Vic the Stick (Drums)
Side Two: "Born To Hula" Featuring Josh Homme (Vocals, guitar and bass), Vic the Stick (drums) and John Garcia (back up vocals)
This single was produced by Josh Homme and Chris Goss and recorded at Ironwood Studios in Seattle.
This single is the first release from what would become Queens of the Stone Age. Gamma Ray started out with Josh Homme (Kyuss, Queens of the Stone Age), Vann Conner (Screaming Trees) and Vic "the stick" Indrizzo (Masters of Reality). The name Gamma Ray was dropped in 1997 after the European heavy metal band, also named Gamma Ray, threatened to sue. Only 2,000 copies were pressed by Man's Ruin Records. This record up for auction is one of the first 1,000 pressed. The second half of the pressing has different lableI art and does not come with the "READ THIS:" insert. The record you are looking at was printed on clear vinyl and the label has a black "G" logo over a series of silver super-imposed squares and black circles. The insert reads, "READ THIS: This is the Gamma Ray featuring Josh Homme of Kyuss fame. It is NOT that guy from Helloween or whatever." This record is EXTREMELY RARE and HARD to FIND.
