ABSOLUTE GEM! Incredibly rare vinyl with the Gap Mangione Trio performing and Chuck Mangione composing/conducting. Released in 1968 by GRC Inc. and somehow never re-issued. SAMPLED by SWIZZ BEATZ feat. KENDRICK LAMAR / Jadakiss / Styles P on "Something Dirty/Pic Got Us"!!!
Played through for testing and blown away by the masterful instrumentation and arrangements (AND NO SKIPS!). Every song is different, each better than the last, veering from big band style jazz to experimental fusion, even mixing in some world rhythm and a medley of Simon and Garfunkel covers. Rochester, NY native and jazz legend Gap Mangione turns in a perfectly understated and easy to love performance with his very underrated group, guided by the expert hand of Gap's brother Chuck. Two up and coming jazz brothers working together to craft an eye-opener that got them noticed!
Perfect for vinyl collectors and lovers of great music alike. A truly rare piece of jazz history.
Cardboard sleeve is still in factory plastic. Record has a few small scratches but is in great shape and plays through perfectly (reflections in pics!). No insert. Shipped with extreme care.
