Kit and the Outlaws evolved from the Outlaws, the Dallas group led by Kit Massengill. As the Outlaws. Their second 45, a fuzzed-up version of "Midnight Hour" was picked up by Philips for national distribution in late 1966, mainly on the strength of the a-side. That's a fine cover version, but it's the b-side, Kit's original "Don't Tread on Me", that gets the attention nowadays. The first BlacKnight pressings list the band as "The Outlaws", later pressings read "Kit and the Outlaws." Because the record contains so much force and fury, with the menacing vocals and fuzzed up instrumentation this disc has become known as one of the best punk singles of all time.MP3's were created from the record in this auction using an ION turntable and Audacity software. Listen to the records before making decisions on bidding or just feel free to enjoy the music. I professionally and carefully clean the records to restore them for their best possible playback. For me, it is just part of my play-grading EBAY preparation process. I keep the MP3's for my own personal enjoyment. What you hear in the ad is exactly the way it will sound when it is recieved by you- should you win the bid.
