Gary Farr - Take Something With You - rare original 1969 Marmalade LP including friends from Mighty Baby and Blossom Toes.Marmalade 608013 rare UK issue, matrix numbers 608013A//2,608013B//2.Produced by Reggie King this album contains elements of acid/psych folk and folk rock progressive with some support from cult musicians of the time.
Line up of Gary Farr,Mike Stephens,Michael Evans,Roger Powell,Ian Whiteman,Andy Leigh,Martin Stone,Brian Belshaw,Nick Jones,with backing vocals from Karen,Cynthia,Nicola and Linda.
Cover is generally very good.Parts are excellent to one part good on this soft card cover.Hardly any wear to the spine which is nicely legible, some rubbing to the top and bottom edges, slight wear to the top edges,a few insignificant marks - due to blend of print and card colour these minor items are barely noticeable, slight bump to the top left corner.Would be excellent but for circular stain and three small scars left by a sticky shop label on the front - just right of centre, again the print colour prevents this from being as tragic as it might have been.
Vinyl is generally excellent.A bright glossy appearance to the vinyl with no obvious blemishes. The classic Marmalade label looks fresh and free from marks.A lovely Marmalade/Polydor pressing, particularly bringing out the different timbre of the guitars used and generally playing very well.Nothing to detract from the listening experience more than some slight surface noise at the beginning of the first tracks in the transition between tracks and in the run outs. There are a few hints of very light crackle and a handful of light clicks on side 1,barely any on side 2.
