Description
This is a mint condition, very rare, white label test pressing Gary Numan "Cars". It was issued by Specialty Records under contract to Atco Records U.S. in 1979. Test pressings were made in advance of regular pressings for quality control purposes. They were very selectively distributed to record label V.I.P.s and the artist and their management for approval. Very few were produced and most copies were destroyed. They were never made available to the general public. This single has "Cars" on both sides. The white Specialty labels on both sides have hand writing that was done at the pressing plant. There is a date stamp that reads "Dec.14 1979". The record comes in a white paper sleeve. It has had one owner, a former record company executive who has had it filed away since 1979.
