Description
Up for your bidding pleasure is a Gene Ammons 10" Jazz LP Record Album Vinyl. Prestige PRLP 149. c.1953. This Gene Ammons jazz record is in good condition (see attached photos). Gene Ammons tenor sax is the prominent instrument in this jazz recording. The record has very light visual/optical markings. In fact, the record looks great and could easily be graded VG+ and maybe NM, but there is heavy surface noise throughout the album. The record and sleeve have a combined weight of 8.3oz. Of course I'll ship USPS Media Mail to save you money unless instructed to do otherwise. So buy it, listen to it, or simply collect it, but just don't miss out on it. I use the Jerry Osborn's Rockin' Records grading system: M, NM, VG+, VG, G+, and G. I tend to grade pretty hard, but if you disagree with me, do not hesitate to return the record for a full refund.
- ARTIST: Gene Ammons
- FORMAT: 10" 33-1/3rpm LP
- TITLE: Tenor Sax Favorites
- LABEL: Prestige Records
- NUMBER: PRLP 149
- MONO/STEREO: Monophonic
- COVER GRADE/DESCRIPTION: G/The entire back is split so that it is possible for the record to fall through and out the cover. I could not get a new inner sleeve to fit into the cover to prevent that from happening and I am unwilling to tape the split. Without the seam split I would have graded the cover VG. Other than that, there is light scuffing on the front cover and edge browning around the perimeter on the back cover.
- RECORD GRADE DESCRIPTION: G/Has a few light optical surface marks. The record looks gorgeous (VG+), but there is heavy surface noise throughout that may diminish with a professional cleaning and a couple of short duration repeat pops. It sounds like an old 78 record. The music is tasty, but the surface noise is not. I do not know what is possible these days to bring back records to life again or to eliminate surface noise. I do not listen to any records that I sell with a $50,000 stereo system. If you would like a CD-type experience, then do not buy this record. If you would like to hear jazz music as it was played 61 years ago, on a recording medium from that time, then this record may be for you.
- ADDITIONAL: Jimmy Raney guitar, Sven Coolson tenor sax, Hall Overton piano, Keith "Red" Mitchell bass, and Frank Isola drums.
Add this Gene Ammons 10" Jazz LP Record Album Vinyl. Prestige PRLP 149. c.1953 to your fabulous album/record collection before someone else adds it to theirs.
