Description
An utterly amazing line-up on this jam session: Gene Ammons, Art Farmer, Jackie McLean, Candido on conga, Duke Jordan, Addison Farmer, and Art Taylor. This is an original pressing of Prestige 7039, a 1956 album recorded by Rudy Van Gelder. This is sometimes listed by discographers as "The Happy Blues." The tracks are: "Happy Blues," "The Great Lie," "Can't We be Friends," and "Madhouse." This is a pretty wild blowing session with some beautiful playing throughout, great for fans of hard bop and modern improvisation.
Vinyl is EX (I use the NM grade very sparingly and never use M or M-). It has only some extremely light scuffs and rub marks -- the kind that are almost never really audible and only visible by looking carefully in the light. The jacket is VG+. The only real flaws are a 3-inch seam split at the bottom and some moderate corner wear on three of the corners. There is a bit of yellowing visible on the back cover as a natural result of the age of the paper. The front looks very clean and glossy. No ringwear on either side.

Shipping:
Shipping charges for single records are: $5 for media mail, $7 for Priority in the United States. Shipping to Canada is $7.50 for First Class International (FCI). All other international shipping is $15 for FCI. I will also ship items Global Prioity at cost. If you want this option, just let me know after the auction where I am going to send it the record(s) and I will make an invoice. If you want to be able to track the shipment, choose Global Priority. First Class International generally takes 7-10 days for delivery. However, in some cases it can take up to 30 days to some countries, such as Italy and Germany, due to customs delays. Global priority takes 3-5 days for delivery to most countries.
Insurance is optional and available at the bidder’s expense. For U.S. shipments, insurance is $1.65 for $50 or $2.05 for $100. I encourage winning bidders to opt for insurance especially for more valuable items. Without insurance I cannot be responsible for loss or damage during shipping.
I do not charge any fees for handling. All items will be packed with great care using cardboard and sheet styrofoam padding/bubble wrap with the record taken out of the jacket to prevent seam splits during shipping. I ship within one business day of receiving payment.
Winners of multiple items will pay shipping charges at cost, and there is a great savings on per-item shipping cost with multiple wins, so please look at my other auctions ending at roughly the same time.
Other items I have listed at present include a lot of original pressings of cool jazz and modern jazz (on Pacific Jazz, Fantasy, Norgran, Blue Note, Capital, and many other labels).
Payment:
PayPal is preferred payment method. I also accept money orders and cashier’s checks. I will accept personal checks from U.S. accounts only from bidders who have a feedback score of more than 30. Items paid for with personal check will be held 8 business days to allow the check to clear.
If payment is not received within ten days of the end of auction, I reserve the right to terminate the transaction due to non-payment.
