Description

The Real Deal: 1956 First Pressing

This is a genuine 1956 first US mono pressing of the foundational rockabilly debut Bluejean Bop!. It features the turquoise Capitol label and the Scranton "anvil" stamp in the runout. For those who want the raw, authentic sound of Gene Vincent and Cliff Gallup as it was heard in the 1950s, this is a perfect "player copy".

Condition Report

I believe in 100% transparency so there are no surprises. Please review the photos and watch the attached video for a full visual and audio sample of this copy.

  • Album Sleeve (G): This jacket has lived a full life. It shows significant water damage on the back, split seams, and chipping along the edges. It is a worn-out copy, but it remains an original 1956 artifact.

  • Vinyl (G+/VG-): The record has a multitude of fine, small and some feel-able scratches. While it was "well-loved," it plays through and still sounds quite good. Expect surface noise, pops, and clicks throughout, but the music remains clear and very enjoyable.

Matrix / Runout Identifiers

  • Side 1: T1-764-D2 (with Anvil symbol)

  • Side 2: T2-764-D3 (with Anvil symbol)

### Tracklist Highlights

  • A1: Bluejean Bop

  • A2: Jezebel

  • A3: Who Slapped John?

  • B5: Bop Street

  • B6: Peg O' My Heart

Original 1956 pressings in top condition can reach upwards of $600. If you don't mind the "well-loved" aesthetic and typical vintage surface noise, this is an affordable way to own a piece of rock and roll history that still has plenty of life left in the grooves.
