I purchased this album in the secondary market advertised as excellent vinyl and a VG+ cover and following my own appraisal I agree with this.  After a light cleaning I played the album through the Grado’s and the sound was well within the excellent category, truth be told the sound was perfect (I actually played this twice, I just heard this album for the first time last year, I played this back to back against the 180g 2008 remaster, that thing is pretty sorry sounding compared to this, awful actually. The spread is just beyond words).  What is causing the excellent score as opposed to near mint based on the play grade is related to some light surface marks on both sides, certainly nothing of any significance and nothing that impacts the quality of the sound and numerically I am scoring the vinyl a 87, like a very solid B+.  The cover does show a fair amount of wear and numerically I am assigning a score of 77, more like C+ territory.  Both the front and rear cover show light rub wear.  There is also some wear within the corners, most noticeably on the top left rear corner. While there are no separations within the seams or spins there is also a fair amount of rub wear and some wear which you will feel if you run your finger along these seams.  There is also what I believe to be light sun discoloration to the spine.  Finally when looking at the cover from behind the left side (where the album is inserted into the jacket) shows some light wear throughout the length of that area (pushed into a shelf once of twice too many times perhaps?).  This all having been said the front cover is rock solid and in much better condition that a C+.  Regarding shipping the album is shipped within cardboard but with the vinyl outside of the jacket inside of a Whiplash record mailer.  If you have any other questions please let me know and thank you for looking!
