Day credit to the bottom right, comes with the original red advertising inner sleeve. The gatefold picture sleeve and inner sleeve are both in EXCELLENT condition and the vinyl looks – and sounds – MINT. A stunning copy of this progressive rock masterpiece!

This is the extremely rare real thing: a genuine Mint/EX condition UK first pressing. The record, cover and inner sleeve are all in superb condition, without any obvious defects like scratches, tears, creases, stickers, writing, dog ears, stains and the like. See pics. All items are the genuine originals bought together by me in 1972 not reprints or replacements. The LP is the original UK 1972 stereo LP, which was only played occasionally on top-end audiophile equipment and lovingly cared for.

Foxtrot is the fourth studio album by British progressive rock band Genesis and the second from the band line-up which included Peter Gabriel, Tony Banks, Mike Rutherford, Phil Collins, and Steve Hackett.
Foxtrot was also Genesis' first album to enter the UK Top 20, reaching No.12. Still, it failed to reach the US charts. Nor was it the first Genesis album to chart worldwide: Trespass had reached No.1 in Belgium in 1971, shortly followed by Nursery Cryme's No.5 placing in Italy. Foxtrot also reached No.8 in the Italian charts.
"Watcher of the Skies" and "Get 'Em Out by Friday" appeared on 1973's Genesis Live, while the 23-minute-long "Supper's Ready" was omitted due to space considerations. Live versions of "Supper's Ready" did appear on 1977's Seconds Out (with Phil Collins on vocals and Chester Thompson on drums), the 1998 box set Genesis Archive 1967–75, and the 2008 box set Genesis 1970–1975.
The title of the album may be a nod to the Mellotron Mark II used by Banks at the time, which included foxtrot as one of the pre-set rhythms in its tape set. The 'fox on the rocks' is mentioned in the lyrics of the "Willow Farm" section of "Supper's Ready", and is featured in the album artwork. This figure in a red dress with a fox's head became one of Gabriel's earliest stage costumes.

This is the album where Genesis first showed what a talent they really were. Not one track is a throwaway here and the best ones include "Watcher of the Skies". This classic is superbly atmospheric and its opening sounds like modern trance music. Gabriel's voice has clearly matured and provides some in depth character performances on numbers such as "Get 'em out by Friday,". "Time Table," is suitably melodic and has some great piano riffs in it. "Can utility and the Coastliners," has some great guitar solos from Hackett and has stood the test of time well. "Horizons," acts as a melodic filler before the superb "Supper's Ready," which features great work from all the band members and is as good as any other equivalent prog-rock compositions of its time. An essential recording by Genesis - one of their best, if not the best.

A fantastic time warp example of this rarity in amazing condition, a true investment grade item - get it while you can!
