Description

What a find! 1st pressing of Genesis' "From Genesis to Revelation" (Decca,1969).
Evidence of 1st pressing (from Discogs.com): "First UK STEREO release has 'unboxed' blue Decca labels. Laminated front cover, with laminate wrapping around the spine for 1/2" onto jacket rear. Lyric insert displays both mono (LK 4990) and stereo (SKL 4990) catalogue numbers. [Inserts with only STEREO catalogue number are not original.] Back cover has an ''indicator hole'' to let the inner sleeve peep through: red = mono, blue = stereo."
> Laminate wraps around left front edge of cover to 1/2" on back cover (see photo #2) > Unboxed blue Decca labels: (see photos #7 & 9)

  • note the absence of two "ffss" logos at the edges of the grey rectangle--those appear on later labels
  • Upside-down & (see photos #7 & 9)
  • lower-case letters in "Jonjo Music" (see photos #7 & 9) -- later labels feature all-caps
  • center inscription: Side 1: ZAL-8839.P-1W  (photo #8)   Side 2: ZAL-8840 P-2W (photo #10)
