Description
Genesis - Selling some of my extensive Collection. I have hundreds of Genesis items and have decided to sell some of my collection starting with my singles. This is from the second batch I'm listing, so please check out my other items. I collected Genesis for many years going back to pre-internet days, so this collection was put together with care. As I find time I will list more items. Hope somebody else can enjoy them now...
Genesis: In the Beginning and The Serpent. Attractive picture sleeve from Italy.
This record's identification can be confusing for a number of reasons:
1. The cover is clearly not Genesis. It features 3 figures which vaguely look they could be members of Genesis, but the guitar player is clearly Alvin Lee!
2. This is the second pressing of this reissue actually released in 1982, after the 1974 pressing. It can be identified by the white lettering on the front cover - edizione originale (beware - some sellers have been tempted to colour these in yellow to signify the 1974 issue, which is very easy to do!) and the identification on the rear cover featuring SKCI4990 on the very bottom left of the rear of the sleeve, which signifies 1982. Beware of listings which don't include full images of the rear cover.
3. The record itself features a dark Decca label and although it says 1969 on the label and 1974 in the record etching, it is actually from 1982.
It is still a scarce and desirable record. Excellent condition.

A note on my collection: when I acquire a record they are always well looked after - stored vertically on a sturdy shelf, discs of any value are removed from picture sleeves and stored separately in a plain sleeve and then in a protective plastic outer. Smoke free home.
