Classic 1974 concert on the Swingin' Pig label. Where to start with this one? Well, Genesis were beginning to break big finally in North America and their labours paying dividends with increased attention from promoters and labels alike.
This great set is spread over 3 coloured vinyl LPs. There appears to have been some attempt during manufacture to introduce a blue marbling effect on the vinyl which doesn't quite come off, so it's clear with bits of blue swirl (and doesn't show up too well on the photo alas!).
Vinyl quality is NM - I've had this set for some time now and played it once. The box would normally be NM too, but there's a clean box cutter slit on the top edge - maybe 1.5cms long? Could easily be hidden by sellotaping it, but it's never bothered me and you don't see it in any case looking top down. As I say, it's a clean cut rather than an unsightly rip, is very minor and the box is perfect otherwise.
The set comes with 3 excellent inner sleeves which feature William Stout's famous drawings for the TMQ label with wording modified for the Swingin' Pig.
Tracks include: Dancing With the Moonlit Knight, Watcher of the Skies, The Cinema Show, Firth of Fifth, I Know What I Like, The Musical Box, Horizons, Supper's Ready, Twilight Alehouse*, Get 'em Out By Friday*, Stagnation* (* - denotes live BBC session tracks).
Reason for sale: our one year old twins mean my Rega turntable has gone on top of the wardrobe (and out of their reach!). I'm selling off some LPs now that I'm unable to play them. Might even sell off the turntable as well, so do check in from time to time.
