Genesis ORIG UK Selling England by the pound LP EX ’73 Charisma CAS107 Art Rock
Original UK LP released in 1973 on Charisma Records. Cat: CAS1074. Matrix numbers: PORKY RAY CAS 1074 A-1U/ PECKO CAS 1074 B 2U.Genesis proved that they could rock on Foxtrot but on its follow-up Selling England by the Pound they didn't follow this route, they returned to the English eccentricity of their first records, which wasn't so much a retreat as a consolidation of powers. For even if this eight-track album has no one song that hits as hard as "Watcher of the Skies," Genesis hasn't sacrificed the newfound immediacy of Foxtrot: they've married it to their eccentricity, finding ways to infuse it into the delicate whimsy that's been their calling card since the beginning.
Tracks : Dancing with the moonlit knight/ I know what I like (in your wardrobe)/ Firth of fifth/ More fool me (vocals Phil)/ The battle of Epping Forest/ After the ordeal/ The cinema show/ Aisle of plenty. There are a few light spindle marks on labels. Record has a few light scuff marks and is in Excellent condition. Cover has some ring wear, light marks and age spots and a few tiny surface tears around edges and is in VG+ condition.
Wrapping method: All records are sent in stiff cardboard mailers then wrapped in brown paper and sealed around edges with brown packaging tape. Records are taken out of sleeve to avoid seam splits and ring wear.
