Description
This is a genuine original tour flyer for their spring tour in 1974. I know it's genuine because I was there and collected the autographs - I was only 4! The venue I saw them was Woods Sports Club in Colchester - a very popular venue at the time. I don't believe I can provide any further evidence that it is genuine, but feel free to ask me any questions. The flyer is signed by all members - Freddie Mercury, John Deacon, Brian May and Roger Taylor. The reason I am selling this is that I am emigrating so I can't take it with me. I will describe the condition as honestly as I can. Overall I would describe it in fair condition. I am not sure how the autographs look on e-bay, but they are quite clear on the original. Please bear in mind I was only 4 when I got this and it sat in my scrap book, so there is some damage. Then worst of this is probably where I tried to copy their autograph with my own! I am sure this could be professionally removed, You can probably see it half way down to the right of 1974.The top left hand corner has a slight piece of the flyer missing - about 10mm x 5mm - very small and insignificant. At some point, it was held in by cellotape so all of the corners have remanants of the cellotape remaining. However, this only effects a very small area of the corners and I would imagine it could be proffesionally dealt with.There is also 2 small pin holes on each side at the top - I think it is where it has been on my wall at some point - again very small and insignificant. Other than this, this is the only signs of visible damage on the front. It has been glued to my scrapbook and I have cut round it to remove it, but I have not attempted to remove it from the backing - an expert job I think! However, you do get the reverse of the page in my scrap book (not the flyer), expertly decorated with a 4 year old's scribble!
It is very early queen memoribilia so it must be very collectable and sadly, Freddie is not with us any more. I spoke to Christies on the telephone about 5 years ago and they told me that it would be worth around at £1,000 at the time if it was in good condition. As I say, the condition is fair and it is certainly still very collectable and I would imagine with a little work, it could be restored.
