Description
George Harrison, "All Things Must Pass", 1970 UK first pressing 3 x LP box set. Cat no. STCH 639 - Factory sample.
The main issue with this set is that the clam-shell box has separated at the hinge, and all of the corners of the lid and the bottom have split, to effectively make them flat. Two corners of the lid are shown in the photos. I imagine that this would be repairable. On the back is a red and white 'Factory Sample Not For Sale' sticker.
The coloured inner sleeves are present and in good condition, although each has a small split at the bottom, and there are a couple of stains on the purple one. The records will be taken out and put into new poly-lined inners for posting to the winning bidder.
There is no poster.
The records are nice and clean, and play very well, with no skips or jumps, just the very occasional click. Overall there is very little surface noise, even between tracks. The labels are clean with just a few spindle marks. See below for comments on each side after play-testing.
Side 1: YEX 817-1U. Lots of very light swirl marks consistent with removal from the sleeve. A couple of visible surface scratches, but plays well with just a few clicks going into the start of track 4.
Side 2: YEX 818- U. Very light hairline marks and swirls. A couple of light pops in track 2, and at the start of track 3, and there's a lightly audible scratch later in the track, but otherwise lovely.
Side 3: YEX 819-1U. Some visible surface marks, plays with just a minimal amount of surface noise.
Side 4: YEX 820-1U. Some visible surface marks, one of which causes a few little clicks through track 3. Otherwise, a minimal amount of surface noise.
Side 5: YEX 821-1U. Very few visible surface marks, a couple of which of which causes a few little clicks during track 1 and at the start of track 3. Otherwise it plays with a minimal amount of surface noise.
Side 6: YEX 822-1U. Plays really well, with just a little surface noise audible between tracks..
I'm gradually thinning out my record collection, selling off some duplicates, of which this is one.
