This superb early UK 1st pressing of George's epic 3 LP box set dates from November 1970 release on Apple: STCH 639
This early copy has a box which bears significant differences to later, more common issues:
Firstly, it is 'Made in Great Britain' - most were produced in the U.S. These early boxes were made to the wrong specification, they were too deep. Therefore, to prevent the contents moving around an additional corrugated card insert was added so everything would fit snugly inside. After these initial batch of boxes ran-out, they were replaced by U.S. manufactured ones which were thinner, meaning everything fitted snugly inside without the need for the card insert. Another feature of these early boxes was were that the underside of the tray had a strong 'leather' textured finish.
This box set contains:
- 3 x UK pressed LPs
- U.S. printed inners (there were no U.K. printed ones)
- 'Made in Great Britain' printed poster.

A great sounding set of discs which have been barely played. Disc 1 appears to have been played a handful of times (side 1 only) indicated by small collection of spindle marks around the side 2 centre hole. Discs 2 & 3 have been played once only and are flawless both visually and audibly.
Box: EXCELLENT +
Fully intact with minimal shelfwear and no significant or major faults. The front panel is extremely clean & unblemished with just the faintest hint of storage. All corners are undamaged and unsplit no inside & out and are fully intact. Inside all is perfectly clean and correct. The spine retains superb bright & unworn gold lettering which would look beautiful on any serious collector's shelf.
Inners: EXCELLENT +
All are clean & flat with just a tiny stress to one of the seams on the purple sleeve.
Poster: EXCELLENT +
