Rare original 1968 UK FIRST PRESSING 19-track stereo vinyl LP on the dark green Apple label, housed in a fully laminated picture sleeve complete with the original credits/Apple logo insert and die-cut black inner sleeve. The record is in Excellent condition with only a little light crackle here and there, and sounds as wonderful as ever, while the cover, insert and inner sleeve also fully merit an Excellent grading. See pics. A superb collector’s copy of this 45 year old album. The first ever LP on the Apple label and the first solo album from any member of the Beatles.
Highly desirable for its first pressing matrices, pressed with very early stampers made from the first mothers, and Excellent condition, and increasingly difficult to find in this kind of condition. This is the extremely rare real thing: a genuine 1968 UK first pressing from very early stampers. The record, cover, insert and inner sleeve are all in excellent condition. All items are free from any major defects. See pics. All items are the genuine originals bought together by me in 1968, not reprints or replacements. The LP is the original 1968 UK stereo LP, which was only played once or twice on top-end audiophile equipment and lovingly cared for.

Wonderwall Music is George Harrison's first solo album and the soundtrack to the film Wonderwall. The songs are virtually all instrumental, except for some non-English vocals and a slowed-down spoken word track. The songs were recorded in December 1967 in England, and January 1968 in Bombay, India. Wonderwall Music is notable for being the first official solo album by one of the Beatles as well as Apple Records' first LP release.
Some of the musician's credits are pseudonyms for Harrison, Eric Clapton and Ringo Starr. Harrison is listed merely as producer, arranger and writer for the album. Peter Tork of the Monkees also played banjo (specifically, one borrowed from Paul McCartney), but was not credited. Tork has stated that his brief recording features in the movie, but not on the soundtrack album. Part of the track "Crying" was used as a coda to Harrison's 1981 album Somewhere in England, at the very end of "Save the World".
All of the tracks were composed by Harrison, and it was the first official solo album by a Beatle. It was the first album release on the newly formed Apple Records, appearing in November 1968, a few weeks before The Beatles (White album). It would also be the first Apple record to be deleted, though it was re-mastered and reissued on CD in 1992. The album is currently out of print.

Wonderwall Music is a fascinating recording, and I speak from the point of view of someone who loves to play with tape recorders and audio at home. Beatles fans should note that this is not a collection of pop songs, nor are there any vocals except chanting at the end. Instead, it is an eclectic group of little ditties of varying lengths, which make full use of some fascinating sounds - both Indian (tabla, shenhai, sitar, etc.) and western (tapes played backwards, tapes cut up and edited together, jangle pianos, searing electric guitars, gentle mellotron, etc.) Harrison's studio prowess is quite evident throughout, and it is a lot of fun waiting to hear what is going to happen next. (In some ways this record makes an interesting companion to the Beatles' Magical Mystery Tour in its experiments with sound. Indeed, Beatlemaniacs will remember that early versions of the song "Flying" ended with an obscure jazz record tacked onto the end. Harrison seems to have taken the same jazz record here and sliced it up, looped it, and superimposed some other music on top of it.) While a few moments sound a bit like Revolution 9, more often there are appealing melodies and beats going on. Really, there is some sophisticated music here, especially considering that Harrison was only 25 when he recorded it. It's difficult to summarize this album because I can think of no other quite like it. For those who have an ear for a variety of sounds employed in a creative studio environment, I heartily recommend Wonderwall Music.
