Description
1981 First Pressing of George Straits promotional debut album, Strait Country with runout number MCA-2695 WS-3 Denny Woodland
The Promo Premium: The gold stamp ("For Promotion Only / Ownership Reserved by MCA Records") establishes that this jacket was part of the very first batch distributed to radio stations or music executives before the public release
The Denny Purcell Mastering: The WS-3 Denny Woodland runout confirms this copy was cut directly from the master tapes at Nashville's Woodland Studios. Audiophiles specifically hunt for this matrix number over later reissues because it offers the highest fidelity sound quality available for this specific music
This combination is a highly prized "stock vinyl / promo jacket" hybrid. It proves the album was part of the very first batch manufactured by MCA, rushed out to radio DJs or executives just as George Strait's legendary career was taking off.
