ORIGINAL POLETHENE LINED “USE EMITEX” INNER SLEEVE.
This LP is the FIRST album Georgie Fame & the Blue Flames ever recorded, and was recorded LIVE on the 25th of September 1963 at the London Night Club “The FLAMINGO” in Wardour Street.
It has become a highly sought after record with a cult status, and a must have for Fame fans and early British R&B lovers.
As Blue Flames drummer Red Reece opens “Night Train” Johhny Gunnell announces Fame and his band, the audience reacts and Georgie bursts into action, making interjections here and there, along with the lively audience, adding to the enthusiastic live atmosphere, which continues throughout.
It is a genuine, spontaneous slice of the early/mid 1960’s swinging London music scene captured for posterity on vinyl.
Long, long deleted, with NO official CD release, this LP is very hard to find, even more so in such excellent condition.
The record is in fabulous condition, both cosmetically and in audio output.
AUDIO
The record has NO jumps, NO cyclic ticks, NO muffling and NO loss of clarity, the audio is bright, clear and strong.
On “Eso Beso” and “Work Song” there is a little static at some louder vocal moments, occurring elsewhere only on the odd sporadic occasion.
It is by all means an excellent example of a rare album that is scarce enough to find in any condition, but strangely is all too often to be found played to death and collection space filler only.
NOT SO this lovely example though!
COSMETIC APPEARANCE.
The record is visually almost like new, the vinyl is clean and shiny with no scratches or dull patches, just a couple of the vaguest, ultra fine “sleeve” marks only which take a bright oblique light to even see and produce NO audio artifacts at all.
The labels are pristine.
THE SLEEVE
The sleeve is an EXCELLENT example, clean, fresh and bright BOTH front and back
It has…….
NO ring wear NO scuffing NO loss of laminate NO marks, names or graffiti
NO tears NO crushing (the spine is flat and true with titles clear) NO labels.
The front face laminate layer has a few modest “crescents” near the open face only.
It is worth making extra comment on the rear face as it is amazingly fresh and clean, this is very unusual for a vintage sleeve with an un-laminated rear face that is predominately white. There is just a faint hint of contrast to the first inch or so of the open side only.
The flip back tabs are in superb condition, NO raised edges or peel back.
THE INNER SLEEVE.
The inner sleeve is the ORIGINAL polythene lined “Use Emitex” sleeve it came with, it is of the stouter early/mid 60’s variety with a better grade of paper and poly than those flimsier ones that were used from the late 60’s onwards.
It has no graffiti, tears or stains and the poly is still firmly attached. It has mild age colour only.
