Hard to find German Liberty Records VINYL, not sure of the pressing date, though hard to find, no bar code, recorded at the dawning of 1970...found among piles of old vinyl way down in the South...and in clean M- condition. The sleeve is laminated...
CAN is an internationally known and of the most popular ever of the pioneering "Krautrock" groups; they are famous for their repetitive and hallucinatory sound. The compositions presented in the album, released in 1971 deliver a weird, emotional, satirical free form rock orientated to simple, repetitive guitar lines & chaotic percussions, rhythmically orientated. A few tracks contain acoustic arrangements (guitar, flute & percussion). “Deadlock” which opens the album and is an efficient, rebellious, melancholic strange ballad. “Soul desert” is also a very pleasant, confused rock tune with strange, "acid" suffering vocals and rhythmical, minimalist drum/ bass patterns. “Mother sky” is the improvised song of the album with a repetitive bass guitar exercise and destroying, ferocious guitar solos with the add of “stoned” vocals and no doubt the undisputed highlight of the album in its great 15-minutes of psycho jamming. Insistent and propulsive (Holger Czukay could make the simplest bass repetition sound totally irresistible), the addition of Damo Suzuki's crazy rambling vocals was the final ingredient to Can's classic sound. Whether you view the track as the perfection of the style that Can began with Monster Movie or the first example the more mature direction the band took on Tago Mago, you'd have to agree that it is quintessential Can. Nobody else in 1970 sounded anything like them.
"Tango Whiskyman" and "She Brings the Rain," are examples of the band experimenting with different styles, She Brings The Rain being a stoned groover with cool jazzy beat and all together of the best kind...
