Description

An original mono 1st press of GTF on the UK London label from 1967. Matrix 1B/2B. Stampers 1B/1U - super early. With stampers that early this copy would have come from within the first couple of thousand ever pressed. Please note, importantly, the deep-groove in the label is indicative of 1st press. These early copies were pressed really nice and heavy. The vinyl comes housed in an original Mono cover with pinched spine. Also included is the original Decca inner sleeve from the time. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In super condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback. By and large beautiful mono with little background at all. It's a lovely rendition which plays clean into those quieter bluesy moments. All I can pick out was the odd isolated crackle in the first two tracks. But even this is minor and infrequent. The rest is a solid and easy Ex. So, this really is a great playing early Hendrix copy. Sweet! Once you start playing...it's hard to put away!
Cover (Ex) Can surface looking a bit rough around the edges, but this example is a cut above the rest. A beautifully clean and flat front cover. There's no sign of creasing - nice! The rear is smooth and flat without creasing. There's the faintest touch of ageing along that extreme top edge. Edge wear is very slight indeed and the openings are still sharpish. The spine is 100% intact with just some light ageing. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex) Has hardly aged at all. No splits.
