This auction is for the vinyl LP ”Getz/Gilberto”, Verve catalog V6-8545 by Stan Getz & Joao Gilberto Reprise RS 6277 as shown in the photos in the listing. Included are the 1964 vinyl disc and the original gatefold cardboard LP cover. The original inner paper sleeve is missing so I substituted an ‘Invest In Vinyl’ sleeve. Please see detailed photos.
The vinyl disc has some minimal scratches or scuffing that are very difficult to capture in photos. The gatefold cover has some staining and other signs of shelf wear. There is some ‘personalization’ with the letters “SA” in ink on the inside right edge of the gatefold.
What you see in the photos is what I see. The items in the images are exactly what you will be sent upon purchase. Please ask any questions prior to bidding. See my other listings; multiple items can ship together. I have not tried to play this record; being sold as-is. I will ship in the ‘Invest In Vinyl’ brand inner & outer protective sleeves.
Info below from web search; this LP lacks the noted “hype sticker” - perhaps that was on the outer shrink wrap when issued.
- Label and jacket variation to other similar versions, with track A2 as ASCAP instead of BMI on both label and inside gatefold.
- Issued on black Verve® Records "T" labels with rimtext: MGM Records-A Division Of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Inc. - Made in U.S.A.
- Labels feature dashes between song titles and durations, parentheses around rights societies, and "Stereo" is wider than catalog number.
- Issued in gatefold jacket with company inner sleeve. Mono/stereo catalog number appears inside gatefold as V/V6-8545.
- Issued with hype sticker affixed to front cover, with catalog number V/V6-8545:
- Contains The Hit Record Of The Girl From Ipanema
- Block-shaped "S" and "Sailor's cap" stamped in runouts denote MGM Record Manufacturing Division pressing. Remainder of runouts etched, "2I" stamped and stricken.
