Description
The complete (prewar) recordings of Bobby Grant, Rube Lacy, Willie Brown, King Solomon Hill, and Son House are issued on this Wolf Records (Austria) release with the usual great liner notes by Paul Oliver who states that half of the titles here are the first country blues he ever heard back in the mid-1950s on a Decca album whose cover he designed titled "Backwoods Blues". "I thought they were some of the most beautiful blues I'd ever heard" he states. This copy of the album is in lovely near mint condition.
