Alexander Gibson & The Royal Opera - Gounod FAUST -&- Bizet CARMEN (Suite) - extremely rare Rca LSC-2449 (Shaded Dog; 1s/1s) - Superb!



Two things you should know about this disc. First, it is one of the shortest run releases in the Living Stereo catalog. That makes it one of the most rare. Second, it also has the reputation of being one of the best sounding Rca's, putting it most certainly in the "grail" category for most music lover/audiophiles.

In the circles I move in, mostly among audiophiles, you just mention that you've found a 2449 and all you get are gasps. Fact is, people have spent more on one of these records than their car payment. And this is a first stamper no less.

Jacket is in fine shape, having two wee bits of poke through repaired by a previous owner with tape (cover looks very smart and crisp). Record inside is indeed a shaded dog first stamper and simply has rubber mat scuffing and a few paper scuffs. Should play, being a vintage Rca, NM- to VG+.

Simply one of the finest vinyl prizes in existence.
