Giggles – Glad To Be Alive/High School Girls (EMI, 1975) (EMI 2288) (Ex) (minor W.O.L.) 7”-Inch Vinyl Single in its original company sleeve. Hear it below!
The B-side ‘High School Girls’ is a swaggering proto-punk bovver glam anthem that sounds like The Jook playing The Small Faces’ “Sha La La La Lee”. The A-side “Glad To Be Alive” is drum-laden glam pop that’s reminiscent of late Hello. There’s a touch Bilbo Baggins about this single, too.
Giggles also released several more Junkshop Glam singles including “Just Another Saturday Night” and “Maria (The Enchilada Song)”.
A previous owner has subtly written “C.R.F.” in light biro on the A-side label. The inferior A-side has a little mild crackle before the pounding drums kick in.
