Mega rare 1987 Australian compilation release by Reader’s Digest Australia, licensed from Capitol/EMI Records.  Without doubt one of the USA’s most popular contemporary rock/pop/country singers, Glen Campbell began his music career writing songs and recording demos for a music publisher, soon becoming an in-demand session musician and ultimately a recording artist in his own right, releasing more than 70 albums and selling in excess of 45 million records over a career spanning more than 50 years.  This 5LP boxed set, featuring 64 classic recordings from his hugely successful period with Capitol Records, a few duet tracks recorded with Bobby Gentry, including one of their hit songs ‘All I Have To Do Is Dream’, plus a duet with Anne Murray.  Also included are his many solo hit singles – ‘Rhinestone Cowboy’, ‘Bonaparte’s Retreat’, ‘Try A Little Kindness’, ‘Country Boy (You Got Your Feet in L.A.)’, the classic Allen Toussaint track ‘Southern Nights’ and of course the amazing Jimmy Webb songs – ‘Galveston’, ‘Where’s The Playground Susie’, ‘By The Time I Get To Phoenix’, ‘Wichita Lineman’, ‘Honey Come Back’ and even his version of 'Macarthur Park', plus many more songs.  It features a unique Australian cover and is a great overview of his career with Capitol Records.  Each LP is housed in a generic die-cut sleeve, and all are in a glossy cardboard box with removable lid.  The box, lid and all sleeves are in excellent condition – lightest of wear.  The set also contains a booklet with extensive bio notes and track listing.  The vinyl LP’s are all in excellent condition (exception: Record 1 has a few light scuffs which don’t affect the play).  On vinyl this is a rare and collectable set – RD4-494
