Description: This album contains a comprehensive collection of the most popular tunes of the era. Glenn Miller, his band and their music provided a portion of what little relaxation could be found during those war years. Five 33 RPM Long Playing vinyl records, ten sides and fifty-seven bands will recall memories, and return many to a simpler, yet unimaginable time that our serviceman and their families endured! Contains fifteen pages of black and white photographs, text and songs index. Each of the five records is protected in its own slip cover. If you appreciate big band music, "This one's for you!"
Interesting fact: His band recorded "Chattanooga Choo Choo", which became the first-ever recording to sell over a million copies, earning the first gold record award in 1942. Tragically, his career and life were cut short when his plane disappeared over the English Channel on December 15, 1944, while he was flying from England to France during World War II.
