Description

   On offer is "Glenn Miller And His Orchestra". This is a white leatherette album RCA Victor Collector's Issue Limited Edition Number  RR 408. It includes an 11 page biography of Glenn Miller by George Frazier. There are 59 recordings on the 5 long playing 33RPM records.    This is album is "An anthology of Glenn Miller's contributions to popular music from 1939 until 1944... besides being more exhaustive than than anything else of a similar nature yet released on records, it includes many hitherto unavailable performances which Miller broadcast for Chesterfield Cigarettes.".  The 33RPM records are in their original paper sleeves. The album measures 12 3/4" X 13 3/4" X 1" and weighs 4 pounds 15 ounces.    The owner, a knowledgeable collector, tells me these records have been lovingly played. He calls them Very Good condition. I am not an expert, but have inspected them and found a smear, not quite a scratch on one record. The owner has signed his name inside the front cover and written a note on one page. The album and pages have age appropriate toning at the edges and the first 2 pages have watermarks on the edges. Please view my photographs for more description.     I could find no date on this rare album set, but believe it dates to the very early 1950's.    I will be happy to answer any questions and, of course, combine your shipping.
