Gloria Smyth Rare OZ LP Like soul! EX ’62 LMC LM80 Jazz Soul Blues
Original OZ LP released in the 1960’s on Light Music Club. Cat: LM80.Gloria Smyth, a "would-be Nancy Wilson," born in Hackensack, New Jersey. Smyth had stage debut at the Apollo in 1951 and from there, she worked her way across the night club scene on the East Coast, performing alongside well-known names like Max Roach and Billy Eckstine. She ended up in Vegas in 1958, performing at The Sands, and then onto Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago, where she performed with Ahmad Jamal, Lionel Hampton, and Teddy Wilson. Her most frequent partner, however, was tenor saxophonist Teddy Edwards, and that’s who she recorded with in 1960 for her album called Like Soul!, recorded for World Pacific Records.

There are a few spindle marks on labels. Record has some light scuff marks that cause some light crackles and is in Excellent condition. Gloss cover with back flaps has light ring wear and marks and is in EXcellent condition.
