Gnidrolog, LADY LAKE UK 1972 RCA RECORD LABEL LP PLUS RARE INSERT, Cat No, SF 8322.
This is an original and very rare 1972 one of only two album releases from UK Progressive Rock Band, Gnidrolog.
Gnidrolog was a British progressive rock band, with a sound that was compared to better known bands such as Van der Graaf Generator, Jethro Tull and Gentle Giant. The band was founded in 1969 by twin brothers Colin and Stewart Goldring, who were joined by drummer Nigel Pegrum from Spice (the band that would later evolve into Uriah Heep) and Peter "Mars" Cowling on bass. John Earle joined the band on sax and flute for their second album. They came up with the strange band name by reversing and slightly rearranging the brothers' surname. In May 1972, the British music magazine NME reported that Gnidrolog was to appear at the Great Western Express Lincoln Festival on 26 May that year. Other acts to perform in the Giants of Tomorrow marquee included Budgie, Skin Alley, Tea & Symphony, John Martyn, and Warhorse. In 1972, Gnidrolog released both their first and second albums, In Spite of Harry's Toe-Nail and Lady Lake, before disbanding due to a lack of commercial success. Despite having played gigs with fairly well known bands such as Colosseum, King Crimson, Gentle Giant, Wishbone Ash, Soft Machine, and Magma in their brief career, they have always remained relatively obscure.
Both record labels are in superb undamaged Near Mint condition, both record labels are undamaged, all printed text is clear, all that is visible are just a couple of light signs of play around the centre of the labels.
Side 1 matrix: BGBS 1118-1E and Side 2 BGBS 1119-2E
There are some small letters etched into each run-off groove that read A1D.
The original and rare lyric insert is in Near Mint condition.
Both sides of the vinyl LP are in superb Excellent to Excellent Plus condition, the vinyl LP is a superb example and shows only a few surface hairlines, there are NO deep scratches or scuffs to either side.
The LP play’s without faults, a superb, clear sound quality with NO background noise, NO skips, clicks or pops, a really clear sound quality from this LP.
The LP comes in it’s original polythene lined Made in England inner bag, and is housed in it’s original Clout & Baker, non laminated Picture Sleeve, the sleeve is in overall Very Good Plus condition, there is some LP ring-wear to the front panel, and light rub marks to the edges and corners, however no splits to the edges or spine.
this is a nice example of this rare album release from, Gnidrolog.
