Featuring: Eddie Cochran, Chuck Berry, The Cadillacs, Jimmy Clanton, Ritchie Valens, Jo Ann Campbell, The Flamingos, Jackie Wilson, Sandy Stewart, Moonglows and even Dr. John as a studio musician (as Mac Rebennack)!
This 1959 soundtrack to one of the earliest Rock n' Roll films was never commercially released… Making this One of the rarest film soundtracks ever!
Light scuffing, heavy spindle marks, high gloss, great sound ULTRASONIC CLEAN LP Plays VG+ on average, but as low as G (with notable pops) on A2. Most tracks (Cadillacs, Chuck) have no obvious noise, with quieter bits exhibiting background noise and playing at VG or VG-, aside from the aforementioned A2 which pops. B-side is easily VG overall, mostly VG+! Cover is “Good+” with tape (and its residue), splits, creasing and minor staining.
• Alan Freed plays himself in the film and produced the record. • Some of the Jimmy Clanton songs on this LP were never officially released. • Go, Johnny Go! was the only film appearance of Ritchie Valens, who died shortly after filming this. • Go, Johnny Go! was Eddie Cochran's third and final appearance in a major picture.
