Godzilla vs. Megalon vinyl soundtrack LP on Cheddar Brothers Records. This LP is pressed on a very rare silver vinyl record that appears to be unplayed. But since we cannot determine if it has been played, we are listing this as used. One of only 500 copies pressed, this record captures the soundtrack to one of the most bizarre, psychedelic, and colorful entries in the Showa era Godzilla movies. The brilliant score was composed by Riichiro Manabe, a protege of Akira Ifukube, the original composer of the soundtracks to many Japanese kaiju (monster) films released by the Toho film studios. After their territory is threatened by atomic testing, an undersea lost civilization wages war on the surface-dwellers utilizing a bizarre and quirky kaiju known as Megalon. Once on the surface of Earth, Megalon is joined by Gigan, another alien kaiju, to battle Godzilla. But wait! Godzilla is assisted by a DIY remote control robot named Jet Jaguar (Jagger), which has the ability to fly and grow to giant proportions at will, in order to battle the two evil kaiju, Megalon and Gigan. It all climaxes with a four-way tag team battle with Godzilla and Jet Jaguar on one side, and Megalon and Gigan on the other. Ultimately, the good guys win and everyone goes home happy, except the evil kaiju, which get run out of town and banished. Visual grading of this record shows that it appears unplayed and in excellent condition. Cover is excellent also, with a tiny ding on two corners. Cover art by Brendan Flynn is very colorful and shows all the kaiju facing off and Jet Jaguar's permanent grin face looming in the background.
