This LP is the US version of Moontan by the Dutch band, Golden Earring.
Overall the LP has a more progressive feel because of the extended tracks, "Vanilla Queen", "Big Tree, Blue Sea" and "Are You Receiving Me" which by the way are all excellent, lifting this record to one that is "all killer and no filler".
Besides the foregoing, the other two tracks are "Radar Love" and "Candy's Going Bad", both radio hits.
The record itself is in nice shape. It was cleaned, as are all open records, on a Loricraft Audio Professional Record Cleaner. During play grading we noticed considerable surface noise throughout. Overall it was nothing that detracts from enjoying the record. However, the record was given a deeper cleaning using extremely warm water and nylon brush to loosen anything left in the grooves.
It must have worked, following the warm water rinse and brushing, the record was cleaned again on the Loricraft Audio Professional Record Cleaner. During the next play, few areas of surface noise remained, We did notice an overall "quiet" record due to the deep cleaning and therefore the record is graded VG.
The cover has considerable ring wear on both front and back along with some edge and spine wear, remember, this record is 44 years old. You too will have edge and spine wear at 44. There is also a magic marker mark on the front cover and a cut corner.
The record includes the original MCA inner sleeve and lyric/picture insert. The original MCA inner sleeve is long gone, it has been replaced by a plain white paper inner sleeve. The record is also a promotional copy, you can see the promo sticker on the back cover picture, center, bottom. The record ships with a protective outer sleeve.
