Description

Gonna Catch Me a Rat is perhaps best known as recorded by Gene Vincent, but here we have what is probably the demo recording he learned it from.  Written by Jessie Mae Robinson (who also wrote Let's Have a Party and was the first African American Woman to join ASCAP) this version is more of a jump blues than the rockabilly stormer we all know and love.  10" 78 RPM acetate in VG shape, plays with some hiss but would probably benefit from a professional cleaning.  With original sheet music.  From a large collection of Hill and Range vintage acetates.  Anybody know who the demo singer is?
