-There were just four singles released on the Canadian Chateau label, all from 1962 and were: Daisy-Doo b/w (Remember Me) I'm The One ( Chateau C-142), It's Too Late, He Wins b/w Negotiations (Chateau C-148) , Is My Baby Blue Tonight b/w I'll Meet You In Michigan (Chateau 152) and Chateau 156: Day Before Yesterday/Take Care
. These four were chronologically his first, second , third and fourth releases and all are very collectable.

-Negotiations not written by Gordon Lightfoot was recorded in Nashville, Tennessee. This recording was made at a time when Gordon Lightfoot wasn't yet sure which direction his musical style should lead him. Negotiations was one of only a very few true rock & roll singles released by Gordon Lightfoot, others would include Daisy-Doo (1962) Go Go Round (1966), Spin Spin (1967) and Black Day In July (1968) and although all of the last three mentioned had folk rock components, Daisy-Doo and Negotiations did not.
-Negotiations is a straight-ahead teen rocker with guitar, percolating bass, tinkling piano, solid drumming, female backing vocals and a spoken word/guitar solo! The very last bit of the recording sounds as though the song-writer was influenced by The Big Bopper's Chantilly Lace from a few years earlier.
-It's Too Late (He Wins) was written by Gordon Lightfoot and recorded in Nashville, Tennessee and is a melodic slow-tempo love ballad with beautiful vocals from Gordon Lightfoot and demonstrates his amazing vocal range with nice musical accompaniment including tinkling piano, light bass, drums, piano solo and female backing vocalists. This is closer to the musical direction Gordon Lightfoot would later take in the form of folk ballads.

VG = a well-used record that still sounds OK when played, but may have moderate surface noise, pops, etc.
VG- = a very well-worn record that plays through without skipping, but will do until a better copy comes along.
