Description
Selling-up my extensive record collection. Lots of interesting records in the collection - do have a look at my other items, and there are new listings every week. I may have obscure things that you didn't even know you wanted!
Rarer mono version of this 1968 Blue Horizon album by singer and guitar player Gordon Smith. Backing by members of Fleetwood Mac on two tracks.
Pictures are my own photos of the items for sale. Photos are part of the description, have a good look.
Cover - is front-laminated, in nice condition - formed to the shape of the record, with ring-wear, just taking the shine off the lamination in a circle. Edges are good, corners just a little wear, more at bottom of opening. Back is good, again formed to the shape of the record, and a bit of something attached (halfway up, near the spine). Not split, torn or written-on.
Record - Having had a good cleaning, this now looks pretty nice. I'll try to find time to do a detailed audio test of side two - I have played it recently, it doesn't jump or stick, and has very few clicks, but some crackling in places. Visual inspection - side one has a lightest scratch on track 6, and there's a scratch along the grooves on track 5. More to see on side two - there's a noticeable fingernail mark on track 6 going into track 7. On track 7, there is a very short scratch, and a very light scratch also. There's a short light scratch on track 1, and a surface mark at the start of that track. There's a fingernail mark on tracks 1 and 2, and a pair of lightest scratches going from track 2 to track 4. LATER - OK, I've done the audio test. This has crackles and occasional clicks, never quite goes away but gets a lot quieter as the side progresses. Crackles tend to be noticeable in quiet intros, but fade to background - with a noticeable one or two if he pauses for breath! - during singing. I would say crackles are never louder than his singing, quite a lot less so. Vocal and guitar sound as they should, record is not worn out, and probably enjoyable, once you know not to expect a totally "black" background.
Rare Record Price Guide suggests a price of £120 for a top copy of this.
When I'm checking for damage on records, I look at them carefully with my reading glasses on, in good daylight. This method detects any bits of damage that will affect what you hear when listening to it - and lots that are not audible. Using a spotlight or direct sunlight shows more surfacey marks sometimes, but I don't do that - records are for listening to, not trying to see your face in.
Postage at cost within UK - £3.00 plus 50p for a proper record mailer with two stiffener sheets of cardboard. Happy to do combined postage wherever practical. I'll charge you what it costs me - so anything up to six (or so) LPs would still be the same £3.50.
I'm happy to send this overseas. See below for details, if bidding from outside UK - you need to know this stuff.
Dispatch will usually be "next day".
Collection in person is welcome.
I don't mail things personally, to countries outside the UK - ( I mean it, don't ask) - but I am happy to use E-Bay UK's Global Shipping Program, for sending things abroad. Under this scheme, I send the parcel to an e-bay depot in UK, and they forward it to the overseas buyer.
They have a tracked courier service, for the journey from their UK depot, to the buyer.
This means that I can ONLY accept payments through e-bay (Pay Now button), and I can't send invoices.
E-Bay UK tells me, they do NOT do combined postage in the Global Shipping Programme. Charges to the customer for delivery are whatever you're told they are - if you don't want to pay the postal / courier charges individually for the items, then do not bid.
Overseas customers - please DON'T request an invoice - there is no combined postage, I can't make one, and it screws-up the e-bay system.
International buyers should be able to see a postage cost to their country, you may have to input your location, if your country is included in the scheme.
If your country is not mentioned, please do not bid.
International postage to the following countries will be shown (this is the latest list that I've seen - lotta countries!)
Australia Austria Belgium Bulgaria Canada Croatia Cyprus Czech Republic Denmark Finland France Germany Greece Hungary Ireland Israel Italy Japan Lithuania Luxembourg Malta Netherlands New Zealand Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand Turkey Norway Poland Portugal Romania Russia Slovakia Slovenia Spain Sweden, United States, Antigua & Barbuda Aruba Bangladesh Barbados Belize Bermuda Bolivia Brunei Darussalam Cambodia Cayman Islands Dominica Ecuador Egypt French Guiana Gibraltar Grenada Guadeloupe Guernsey Iceland Jersey Jordan Liechtenstein Macau Maldives Martinique Monaco Montserrat Nicaragua Oman Pakistan Paraguay Peru Reunion Saint Kitts & Nevis Saint Lucia Sri Lanka and Turks & Caicos Islands
International postage plus applicable customs charges will probably be shown to buyers in non-EU countries - E-Bay collects customs duty for the receiving country: Australia, Brazil, Canada, Israel, Japan, New Zealand, Russia and USA, and wherever else import duty is appropriate - e.g. Norway. I don't send to China.
