Gorillaz Demon Days - May 2005 Virgin / Parlophone Records # 0724387383814 UK Press. Limited Edition Special Release Heavy Press copy. Great players copy, read complete description.
Disc: Overall VG+, with some quiet passes at VG, or otherwise noted. Heavy press with more signs of play and use then can be heard. Some light background noise throughout only during quiet parts of songs. Since the press is 180 g or heavier all the signs of abuse are not terrible distractions from the music. I play graded this copy with a pen and paper while listening to the whole album. Bid with confidence of description.
Side A - Minimal Hairs, with none felt to touch. There is one scrap / blemish on "Oh Green World" towards the end of the song, that produces a faint background "pop" on a couple revolutions (*See photos*). Overall Side A is VG+ with great sound, just a few "pop's" VG during end of last track. Great luster, no label damage. Side B - One deep groove on intro to "Dirty Harry" that produces a couple crackles on first 2 or 3 revolutions. There are many faint hairs on side B but none are felt to touch or affect sound quality much. Overall side B is VG+ with some light background noise heard during quiet parts.of "El Manana" Solid VG+ during loud melodies, heavy press issue. Side C - Strong Sound throughout all of this sides music. One visual scrap on the vinyl that plays through like a champ (see photos*) Overall solid VG+ some light background noise during quiet passes (VG) Side D- A couple audible crackles on on intro to "DARE" There are many hairs on side D, but none felt to touch or that effect sound quality too terribly. Honestly looks VG, but plays VG+ during loud melodies. During quiet parts of "Fire..Monkey Head" you can hear background noise during quiet passes.
Cover: Overall the cover lays between a gray area of VG+/VG. All spines art crisp and actual color to the cover is crisp with high luster. The problem is that original owner wrote on pieces of paper over the cover and some of the pen indents pressed through to the cover. There is no ink on the cover, but there are slightly noticeable swiggles and lines on cover as indents. Only on front cover. Nothing excavating any surface from the album, but just making a slight almost indent in some places on cover. Inner gates and back cover have exceptional art. All seems are intact and title spine is almost flawless. The cover would be VG+ or better if not for the indents that can be felt from pen to paper over the top surface of cover.
Inner Sleeves - Are VG+ with a top seem split about 2-3 inches where record squeezes into sleeve. Art is crisp with no corner bends or creases.
Overall an exceptional complete players copy of a phenomenal album in music history. Rare limited release of master piece on vinyl. Records look beat up, but play through like a champ heavy weight. Also this heavy disc has many VG+ runs left in its long life. I also cleaned the vinyl with archival formula before listing. You will get a cleaned copy on auction's end.
