Description

Grachan Moncur III (with Tony Williams, Lee Morgan, Bobby Hutcherson, Jackie McLean, Bob Cranshaw) EVOLUTION. Blue Note 4153, recorded 1964. “Blue Note Records Inc., New York USA” on label.  Ear in wax and “VAN GELDER” stamped in wax. Also includes “26 years of Blue Note” Inner Sleeve. Disc is impressively M- and flawless.  Jacket is not laminated but also brilliantly perfect, as though from a time capsule...


Here’s the sixth of about 50 batches of records from a fastidious NY-area collector with excellent taste. One owner since release in most cases. Very many of these were played either very little or very carefully. They’ve been carefully play-graded as well.  Low starts, as you can see, and almost no reserves. Bid with confidence.
