GRAM PARSONS - GRIEVOUS ANGEL.
Former member of the International Submarine Band, former Flying Burrito Brother, former Byrd, but flying solo here. Gram Parsons in all his ragged glory. His friendship with Keith Richards was also instrumental in moving The Stones in a more country-leaning direction.
The founder of Cosmic American Music - a new form of Americana blending Country, Rhythm and Blues, Soul, Folk and Rock, he left an indelible mark in music history in such a short space of time.
This is his second album, released posthumously in 1974. Highlights include the title track, $1000 Wedding and the duet with Emmy-Lou Harris on Love Hurts.
