Description

Up for auction is I am informed a very Rare 78 record, which belonged to my Late Father who worked at EMI in Hayes.
The record was commissioned in remembrance of the Jubilee of the 25th year of the reign of H.M the Kaiser Wilhelm.
On the front of the box it reads: "Paul knupfer, kgl. Preuss Kammersanger M 042398 Schottische Sage, Ballade Von Feodora Prinzessin Zu Schleswig - Holstein, Musik von Oscar V. Chelius "
There is a paper slip inside the box which reads:
"In Remembrance of the Jubilee of the 25th year of the reign of the H.M. the Kaiser and King Wilhelm 2nd 1888 - 1913"
"With the approval of the H.M. the Kaiser and King"
"Gramophone Festival Recordings"
"On the occasion of the 25 Years Jubilee of the reign of the monarch."
"Sale for the benefit of the Kaiser Wilhem children's home Ahlbeck"
On one side of the record is an embossed image of the Kaiser, with what look like standard record grooves and around the edge is the same wording as on front of the box.  On the second side is what appears to be a normal record grooves.  On the label it reads:  "Monarch Platte Grammophon" "Heil Kaiser Dir!" "Grammophone - Orchester, Berlin" "Katalog No 040747"
To be played the record sits in a green velvet lined tray.
On the whole the record seems in very good condition.  The box has some cracking to the lid and some wear to the edges.
Please note that all UK shipping for this item will be £8 (for some reason ebay dictates that I must add an option that is only £4.00).
