Up for sale is a rare 1973 US factory transition vinyl mispress of Grand Funk Railroad's classic rock album We're An American Band on Capitol Records (SMAS-11207). The vinyl caught a factory color change during production, creating a clear orange and yellow marbled flame effect across the translucent disc.

  • Media Grade & Description: Good (G). The vinyl surfaces display standard playback noise during the needle drop, dead wax, and quiet transitions, with heavier surface noise on side B. Critical note: Track B1 has a physical defect that causes the needle to skip. The remaining tracks play through completely without looping.
  • Jacket Grade & Description: Very Good (VG). The Unipak gold-foil gatefold cover is structurally sound with no seam splits or surface tears. Visual wear includes ringwear and corner rounding on the front and back center faces, alongside noticeable shelf wear along the bottom edge.
  • Extras: Complete with its original solid black inner sleeve graded in Near Mint condition.
  • Album Highlight: Driven by the iconic, cowbell-heavy title track, this specific copy is a highly collectible visual manufacturing anomaly that serves as an excellent display piece.
📦 Shipping Note: To prevent jacket damage, the vinyl will be shipped inside its liner outside of the cover. Both the vinyl and cover will be placed inside a protective sleeve and packed securely in a dedicated record mailer.
