Description

Gran Ole Opry’s New Star GEORGE JONES Country Song Hits STARDAY LP-101 released in 1956 as Starday's first ever release. This is the 1958 re-release based on the Starday logo on the labels, the matrix information is the same as the first pressing.
Super rare and near impossible to find classic country rarity! Record has been well loved but still has plenty of life left in it!
VINYL in G condition with several scuffs and hairline scratches that produce background crackle and pops throughout, I listened to the record all the way through and it is still a great listening experience despite the noise. NO SKIPS> This is definitely not a hi-fi recording to start with, but the music blast through the crackle. The recording is raw and funky and the "in your face" style of recording serves this pressing well. There is a tiny chip on the edge of the record (see photo details) that did not affect play.
COVER in W (worn) condition with split seams, heavy ring wear, yellowing/staining, old tape residue, spine is paperless but held together.
Included new mo-fi record sleeve.
The cover shows the catalog number as LP-101 and the record label shows the Album title as "George Jones Sings".
The label is yellow with black lettering, Starday in serif letters.
This label was in use between 1958 and 1959.
Printed in the U.S.A.
