Description
Up for auction is Grant Green's Green Street, one of the jazz guitarist's seminal albums with Ben Tucker on bass and Dave Bailey on drums, Blue Note BLP-4071 from 1963. Label is deep groove on both sides, states the New York USA address, has the "ear" or P etched into the dead wax, and has "RVG" stamped on both sides in the dead wax.
This comes with the original Blue Note inner sleeve!
Sleeve: NM, absolutely PRISTINE, with no ringwear, no dog-earring, no spine splits, no creases, a slight discoloration of the white back toward the bottom and one tiny timing written in blue ink after the track "Round About Midnight." Bears the 43 W 61st St, New York 23 address.
Record: side 1 - NM, with a few tiny, almost imperceptible scuffs on the first track; side 2 - M-, label stamped "Review Copy," no indications of having ever been played, but with a film of some kind on the dead wax of this side that won't wipe off (this does not affect playback, I checked, and the tracks themselves appear unmarked by whatever it is).
Overall an AMAZING copy of this album.
I am a university professor of music here in the US who inherited this and other records from a collector a few years back. I am looking to sell off some of these records to collectors/audiophiles who can get more enjoyment out of them than I can.
Thanks for looking.
