Description
WARNER BROS. Records W 1689 M-/VG++ MONO 1967. matrix nos. 9233 1C W-1689-A/9234 1C W-1689-B US original album. Pressed on the gold Warner Bros. label in MONO!! After playing around the San Francisco scene at the Fillmore and Avalon ballrooms, the Dead heading to LA to record. Cut in 4 days and recorded on a 4-track machine, there were few overdubs. A total of 9 songs included some r&b covers, Good Morning Little Schoolgirl and Sittin' On Top of the World, some folky tunes, and a few originals like, The Golden Road and Cream Puff War. The album didn't sell much...but the rest is history!!! Cover has very clean corners, solid spine, and just in great shape, nice colors, tiny paste bubble in lower left corner, but overall NEAR MINT!!! The vinyl is very shiny, clean, with a few tiny, thin hairline scuffs. The labels have NO spindle marks. A VERY NICE RARE pressing!!! Sounds nice and rich!!! SEE MY STEREO COPY ALSO!!!

I specialize in selling PROMOTIONAL albums in rock n' roll and jazz from the 1960's and 1970's. PROMO albums are usually pressed from the original master tapes in an extremely limited quantity, and are 1ST pressings!!! Many are issued with white labels, others have radio timing strips on the cover, just a promo sticker or gold cover stamps. Given out selectively to radio stations before the stock release, they generally have superior sound quality, are RARE, collectable, and getting VERY SCARCE!!!
PLEASE NOTE: I clean all my records with a PROFESSIONAL Nitty Gritty record cleaning machine, if necessary. I pack ALL records carefully. Records are placed outside of the record cover in a clear plastic record sleeve. Albums are bubble wrapped for safety and mailed in a STRONG cardboard record mailer box.
