Notes: Terre Haute repressing ? Contains 1971 remix, so pressed between 1971 and 1973. Has green labels and WB shield at top Additionally, an "S" etching on side 2 run-out seems to imply that the stamper / metal part was sourced from Santa Maria. Sleeve still shows W7 logo on front and back, however Seven Arts is not a valid company for this version. Barcode and Other Identifiers: Matrix / Runout (A label): (S39493) Matrix / Runout (B label): (S39494) Matrix / Runout (A side run-out etching (Artisan logo stamped): X T1 WS-1790-39493- Re 2-1 ? B Matrix / Runout (B side run-out etching (Artisan logo stamped): WS1790-B 39493-Re 2 1B Sx ? This is my best guess at the version of this many times printed album. My version includes the “S” stamped on side B and the Artisan Sound Recorders Logo on both sides. Also, with the 1972 Warner/Reprise Loss Leaders promotion inner sleeve, which is not mentioned on this release but on others. This is a minefield! On my version the Matrix / Runout as follows: A – XTI WS 1790 (39493) RE 2-1 B – IT WS 1790 (39494) RE 2-2 + “S” stamped
The cover is in excellent condition, no signs of wear/storage.
Around this time, I stored a lot of albums in thin plastic sleeves and sellotaped them to the open edge of the cover. Therefore, the cover remains in excellent condition, although signs of the sellotape fixings can be seen inside the cover. Obviously, no thought to the effect on the value 50 years later! Additionally, the store shrink wrap remains.
Excellent vinyl, no obvious scratches/blemishes visible. Rarely played.
Appears to be the original inner sleeve (The Warner/Reprise Loss Leadwers), in good condition which shows only minor blemishes/staining etc. Also, an additional Nagaoka anti-static sleeve.
Part of quality collection of Mobile Fidelity releases, Half-Speed Masters, Direct Cut Masters and over 120 Japanese Pressings included in a total of 1500 albums.
I have been an audiophile for over 50 years and all vinyl etc lovingly cared for, and since the original purchase perfectly stored on appropriate shelving and in a smoke free environment. As far back as the late 60’s a friend built me a beautiful solid wood cabinet to store the vinyl, which I used for over 40 years. Later using additional Habitat “storage cubes” which were perfect for albums at 13” x 13”
My turntable is not currently wired up (no suitable equipment) has not been used for over 12 years, therefore other that the look of the vinyl I am unable to comment on the presence of pops/crackles etc.
Recently a sold Moody Blues half-speed master album was rejected by the purchaser because of a musty smell and slight stains on the inner sleeve (the vinyl was immaculate). It was from a series with their own brand of inner sleeve. A friend has subsequently confirmed the smell with a similar release not yet sold. My sense of smell must be failing me because I could not smell the mild odour, I also cannot often smell the diffuser in my hall. My failing eye sight obviously did not spot the blemishes on the sleeve. My sincerest apologies if I miss any blemishes or odour again. I shall try my best.
In 1987 I started on a wonderful journey, and still going on, collecting Grateful Dead music. Involving thousands of cassettes (over 3000), 150 PCM tapes, 300 DAT Tapes and currently 4700 Cd’s, and over 800 duplicates etc. discarded. This involved 6 Nakamichi Decks and 2 Professional DAT machines.
With this commitment I hardly played any vinyl.
